Major Street To Be Named After Eaglets Star

The Kwara State House of Assembly has promised to name a major street in Ilorin after Eaglets striker Taiwo Awoniyi.

Kwara State Speaker Razaq Atunwa made the promise when he received Awoniyi on Tuesday in his office in Ilorin.

Atunwa, an avid football fan, said Awoniyi has made Kwara State proud and urged him to carry on as a good ambassador for the state so much so that he will soon dominate the world stage.

Awoniyi was presented with a cash token.

The young striker shone at the recent 2013 FIFA U17 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates, where Nigeria won a record fourth World Cup.

He scored four goals and he is now bound for Europe.

The event was attended by the player’s proud parents and made possible by Awoniyi’s manager Goke Oshatoba.
